About

Welcome to EE Power School (EEPS) — a learning resource dedicated to electrical and power systems engineering. The site exists to make rigorous, practical engineering knowledge accessible: tutorials, simulation walkthroughs, energy-system fundamentals, software guides, and project ideas for students and working engineers alike.

About the author

EE Power School is written and maintained by Dr. Muhammad Sarwar, who holds a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Iowa State University and has more than ten years of experience in energy and power systems research. He currently works as a researcher at a well-known power systems research institute in the United States, where his work focuses on the modern grid — renewable integration, inverter-based resources, power system modeling, and grid stability.

Everything published here is grounded in that academic and professional background. Articles are written to reflect how these topics are actually taught and applied in practice — drawing on coursework, simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink and ETAP, and current research in power and energy systems.

What you’ll find here

  • Tutorials — step-by-step guides on power system analysis, protection, and control.
  • Simulations — worked examples in MATLAB/Simulink, ETAP, and related tools.
  • Energy — fundamentals of renewable and conventional energy resources.
  • Software — practical guides to the engineering software used in industry and academia.
  • Final-Year Projects (FYP) & BSEE — ideas and guidance for electrical engineering students.

Our mission

The goal of EE Power School is simple: to share knowledge and build a community around power and energy engineering. Whether you are a student preparing for exams, an engineer brushing up on fundamentals, or a lifelong learner curious about how the grid works, the content here is meant to be clear, accurate, and genuinely useful.
